25.01.2010. This month KVX delivered their 3rd, 4th and 5th underground loader (LHD) buckets to Australian Contract Mining (ACM) in Western Australia.
Orders for these three buckets followed the delivery of two similar buckets, commissioned earlier in 2009. All 5 x buckets are being utilised on Sandvik Toro 0010 and 517 LHDs in abrasive, high impact gold mining operations in the Kalgoorlie gold fields region. Conditions are extreme and KVX buckets were selected for trial following the historical performance of KVX GET systems versus competitive products on site. KVX first sent engineers to site to evaluate the problems which were occurring with existing buckets.
The KVX bucket proposals were then formulated to carefully target identified weaknesses while also respecting the importance of minimising any extra bucket mass or key dimensional excursions which could then reduce operating performance.
